I'm raising money for an area of greatest need

I've created this page because I want to make a difference.

I'm inspired by the work that the Children’s Hospital Foundation do, so I wanted to raise money for them as part of my participation in 42k Your Way.

Please help me help them by giving whatever you can using the 'donate' button. The more people that know about the Children’s Hospital Foundation, the greater their impact, so please also spread the word by sharing my page with your friends and family.

Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot!

My Updates

Only another 4k in the last two days. Man I have to pull my finger out!!!! Update thick ass socks did nothing, think new shoes are needed.  Might give cycling a go......

Today I only walked 1km, but 1 kilometre is a kilometre gained... Had company again today which is always great and maybe a sneaky coffee and a chat too.  Feet are slowly improving. Have purchased new thick ass socks, lets see if that makes an improvement. Anyhooooooooo bring on the weekend and a new location to have a stroll.

Today my team mate Leanne joined me. It was nice having a girly afternoon taking a walk by the seaside.  Having company when exercising is a handy distraction. To get a short period of time just to reset from the daily/weekly madness is awesome.  Note to self buy thicker socks, now have blisters the size of dinner plates under each foot.  Ouch!!!

42K Your Way Starts

Today I started the challenge to help raise much needed donations for the Children's Hospital. This is a great cause as every little bit helps.  Please feel free to join me on my journey.  I will giving regular and honest updates on my progress to reach 42k.

Today was a punch in the face as to how unfit I really am.  Whilst walking today I had the time to think, which isn't a luxury I normally have.....I have had my own health issues over the past couple of years, the toll it has taken on my body was crystal clear today.  Whilst wallowing in my own self pity, it really hit home why I am doing this, sure this is great incentive to get fit and have a goal to work towards. But it really got me thinking of how these seriously sick kids fight all day every day.  So with that in mind this chubby unfit Mum pulled her big girl pants up and pushed on. Whilst telling herself "toughen up buttercup".
