A bit of a Speed Bump - but not giving up

As we are at 37km, Quinny and I were planning to wrap things up in one lovely walk in the lovely winter sunshine, however unfortunately Quinny suffered a seizure early on Sunday morning. She is doing ok now and thankfully no lasting damage from this one (her second ever), however it does give me some kind of small insight into the experience of some of the more than 1400 patients and families who walk through the doors of the Queensland Children's Hospital each day. 

The worrying and feeling helpless as your little one is goign through something like that is just awful - traumatic even. This just inspires me more to do every little thing I can to make that experience easier for our familes than ever before. 

We're not giving up, but we will just be doing it a little slower, a few walks over the next couple of days rather than one big one.

Ahead of Schedule

Quinny and I have been getting our steps done no worries this week - been out pounding the pavement and ahead of our goal to break it down each day. 

I’ve only missed one day since August started and that’s because I was working at the 4.2k walk from the Gabba to the Queensland Children’s Hospital with our team - so I reckon that’s fair :-) It was a fabulous day and some of our wonderful corporate partners and ambassador families were there sharing their stories of why we do what we do! 

I'm going the distance for sick kids this August!

I’ve signed up for the 2023 42k Your Way challenge to raise money for the Children’s Hospital Foundation! I see first hand how the funds raised make a difference for sick kids every day.
